What's this all about anyway?

This is the course blog for the University of Michigan's Political Science 406, Democratic Theory (Winter 2016).  Students will draw from course texts to produce a 3-blog "series"
UM's Haven Hall houses the Department of Political Science
identifying a local democratic failure (or missed opportunity) and proposing a solution.

Over the course of the term, students will think and write critically about the ways in which political theory can inform our understanding and evaluation of local issues, especially those by which they are or may be affected themselves. Likewise, we hope the study of a local failure or missed opportunity will illustrate the ongoing relevance of classics of democratic thought, promote an interest in more recent scholarship on democracy and democratic practice, and even offer insights into potential gaps in the literature.

Stay tuned for more...
